The full day symposium designed especially for early care and education professionals will offer a wide variety of workshops to choose from, including Relationship Building in Infant Care, PlanetEarth, Promoting Oral Language, theNatural Playground and Healthy SexualDevelopment.
This year’s guest speaker is author Susan Hand Shetterly. Shetterly has written five children’s books and two books of narrative essays. Her latest book, Settled in the Wild, was published by Algonquin Press in January of this year.
For ten years Shetterly raised her children in a cabin near Prospect Harbor in Gouldsboro, Maine. They lived in the woods, grew gardens, and learned how to cook from scratch – they were people of the back to the land movement. Shetterly has been involved in work with a land trust and was a wild bird rehabilitator. Now she spends her time writing about wildlife and wildlife issues.
Registration is $35 if received before September 10. After September 10, registration is $40. For more information or to register call Amy Ludwig at 973-3533 or 1-888-917-1100.
